I’m writing this from my Airbnb in San Jose, Costa Rica, where I’ve been these past 10 months. Well, not in San Jose for 10 months — I arrived in Costa Rica about a week before the world shut down.

View From my Balcony in Puerto Viejo

And have been exploring this beautiful country ever since ❤

Living in Monteverde’s cloud forests; Puerto Viejo’s beach town; San Jose’s upscale Escazu; some of Guanacaste’s beach cities; and other quiet little getaways, like San Isidro’s rainy mountain tops :)

What brought me here to begin with?

An 8 Day Breatharian Process, led by the amazing and wonderful Akahi and Camila. Those beautiful, gentle souls, so full of love and light :)

I met so many amazing Beings, in that gorgeous retreat center in Turrialba. A mini jungle, with its own river and natural pool…

Anyway, even though I could’ve caught some last minute flight back to the States before the borders closed, I chose to stay.

Little did I know, they’d just keep on extending my visa…!

So here I am. At my desk in my palatial Airbnb…

Documenting my journey as a copywriter.

Where All the Action Happens — Just Picture ME In That Chair :)

Even though I began my first copywriting course (AWAI) in 2016. And took my second course with Dan Lok in 2019, before joining his advanced program. It never occurred to me to document it!

What Inspired Me to Randomly Start Documenting, This Far Into My Copywriting Career?

I’m reading Russel Brunson’s Traffic Secrets. And just got to the part where he advises us to produce daily content.

Whether you love being in the limelight with videos; or have a great podcast voice; or you’re an introverted writer- he says pick your favorite medium, and just start.

(And that’s actually how I discovered this platform- Russel recommends Medium :) )

Now, I never thought that would be relevant in my line of work, where I can just reach out directly to anyone I want to write for. All I have to do is see what ads, etc., they already have running. And ask myself,

“How Can I Provide Additional Value to Them?”

9 times out of 10, I just write a free ad, or make some tweak to a landing page they already have. And offer them to try it if they like it!

All I ask is they let me know how it performed ;)

But Russel pointed out it takes a while to find our voice, and for others to find us. So, by the time I’ve published enough content for people to come find me (instead of me finding them), I will have already found my voice, found what resonates with people, found how to create the greatest value for my audience.

So, who knows when you’ll find this…

My guess is you’ll see Episode #552, and then like it enough to start going back to my earlier stuff. And eventually backtrack your way all the way down to this one :-)

And who knows what else I’ll be offering then…

Maybe I’ll be teaching copywriting? Maybe I’ll be offering copy critique services to business owners who write their own copy? Maybe I’ll be running my own digital marketing agency?

What are the infinite possibilities? ❤

At any rate, thank you for finding me and reading all the way down.

I’ll write some more tomorrow, about how I got into copywriting in the first place, what I love about it, how it complements my other god-given gifts, etc. And my hope is for this to inspire you in some way or another.

Love,

Gavriel

P.S. If any of this was interesting, entertaining, or valuable to you, please comment — it would mean the world to me!
